My own summer
Quality time with family and friends... and boardgames!
After a loooong break, here I am again with my little blog. It’s been a very relaxing summer for my family, we spent a week at a nice resort with some friends. The seaside was gorgeous, as we enjoyed the mornings on the beach, while relaxing at the pool in the afternoon.
After dinner, we used to play Flip 7, Trio, and The Mind. The winner is undoubtedly Flip 7, but Trio was a hit as well, while The Mind was fun but got the third place.
We spent another week in ‘staycation’, going around with friends and getting a long break from computer screens and such.
The weather started to change, with some lazy and rainy afternoons where my kid and I spent our quality time together by playing some other games like Villainous, Wingspan, and more.
I also managed to schedule a couple of lighter game nights with my friends, as we played Trio, Flip 7 and Faraway, a game we particularly appreciated due to its original scoring system. You can read a very nice review of Faraway here.
In the meanwhile, I got a free VIP month for my favorite board game shop, and I grabbed Turing Machine at a very cheap price. I love this logical puzzle and I can’t wait to introduce the game to my friends.
I also finally completed my Anachrony collection with the Future Imperfect, Fractures of Time, and the Classic Expansion Pack. This quickly became one of my favorite games of all time, and I think I’ll go after the big box and the ‘pimped’ components later this year.
Recently, an old gaming group of mine seems to be willing to reunite, and this made me quite happy. We’re scheduling a game of Nemesis for the next week, and planning some other sessions with Eclipse Second Dawn for the Galaxy and Anachrony. I just can’t wait!
I am so glad I had the opportunity to play with family members and friends, and as the summer slowly moves towards its final leg, I am starting to wait impatiently for autumn and all the things I love: the sound of rain, the smell of wet ground and trees, the heavier game nights and so on. However, I am very glad this summer’s been so good.
What about your summer? Are you waiting for autumn too? Let me know in the comment. As always, thank you for reading. Please, consider subscribing, it’s free!

So many good games! And so many good friends and memories made too. And that's really what board games are all about, yeah?
I am waiting for Fall because that puts me a little bit closer to PAX Unplugged and seeing all my online board game friends in one place. Labor Day holiday is this next weekend and my friend is having a big game day at his house so that should be fun! Really looking forward to it!
Having a group to play Nemesis, Eclipse, and Anachrony is awesome.
